Recently when walking by the theater you might have noticed the bars around the staircase to enter.
This is because the fire curtains had been out of date and needed urgent replacement. The district paid for new fire curtains in order to bring them up to code.
Fire curtains are fiberglass fabric that fall from the ceiling to put out any fire and to block smoke from spreading into the rest of the theater.
This was also done due to the fact that the school rents out the space to people and want a fully functional fire curtain. “The fire curtain has been out of date for a while,” said senior Lucas Barquin about the new curtains, showing relief about the installment.
