Lady Hawks drop opener to Sehome 47-31, fall to 0-1

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks women’s basketball team played their first game of the season this past Wednesday, November 28, and suffered a loss to the Sehome Mariners 47-31. The Hawks had no answer for the Mariners’ Aspen Garrison who had 19 points and 10 rebounds in the double double performance.

The Hawks were in the game all the way until the end. Senior guard Lydia Prelow lead the hawks with 6 points and 2 rebounds. Junior guard Kierra Scott also added 5 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in the losing effort.  

For Sehome, senior Natalie Zender scored 10 points of her own, while freshmen wing Ava Collins added 5 points and a rebound.

The Hawks struggled with both fouls and turnovers with the 23 total personal fouls and 14 total turnovers.

The next game for the Hawks is Tuesday, December 4 at Cascade High School. Tip-off is 7:15 p.m. for varsity, and 5:30 p.m. for JV.
