Volleyball

Watch out for:

Cristine Lotz, Liana Samuelson and Leah Lechtenberg

Player outlook:

“We’ve had many girls step up to fill new positions. We’re ready to take on new challenges in the 3A conference to get to state this season. We’re very confident with each other’s strengths and we’re excited to grow as a team.” –Cristine Lotz

Coach outlook:

“They work well as a team. They are strong and have positive attitudes. I am excited about the group of athletes that we have.” –Marietta Snyder

Cross Country

Watch out for:

Nina Penner, Rachel Fesler, Christina Szilvassy, Jessica Lindsay, Erica Bond, Justin Frazier, David Young, Ben Pierson, Jared Dick, Joe Clinch and Jack Pearce

Player outlook:

“The team seems really strong. I think we have a lot of potential on both sides and I’m really looking forward to running with these people.” –Jack Pearce

Coach outlook:

“We’re young on the boys side with 10 freshmen but we do have a strong sophomore and junior contingent. On the girls’ side, we have some strong key additions and it’s a very veteran team. [I expect them] to compete for the Edmonds School District Championship, top four at WesCo and Northwest Championships.” –Todd Weber

Women’s Swimming

Watch out for:

Hunter Goncalves, Riley Morgan and Megan Bruce

Player outlook:

“I’m excited for the meets, practices and state; so really just about everything. I think as a whole, our team will do fairly well. We have two state swimmers and several district qualifiers. We’re pretty optimistic, despite the low turnout.” –Hunter Goncalves

Coach outlook:

“We have a small team this year but we have a lot of talent. I expect that we will win some events and have a good weekend in both the district and state meets.” –Doug Kenoyer

Men’s Tennis

Watch out for:

John Kim, Leo Liu and Stuart Milner

Player outlook:

“I feel confident that we will do well. We’ll bring the fire this year!” –John Kim

Coach outlook:

“They are all working very hard and summer camp helped, so I didn’t have to go through the fundamentals. We have lots of freshmen this year. Last year, I had 10 seniors but this year, I have none. I’m not looking for excuses. We’ll work with what we have and try to stay mentally tough. There is a lot of hope for next year.” –Alberto Ramirez

Women’s Soccer

Watch out for:

Ariana Curva, Erin Russell and Takara Mitsui

Player outlook:

“We are a very young team and I feel that we have a great opportunity to improve our record this season and am looking forward to it.” –Takara Mitsui

Coach outlook:

“A lot of freshmen on varsity. This team is a lot younger with not a lot of experience. Last year, there was a core group of seniors… I expect them to get to know each other well and improve as the season progresses.” –Jerry Myers

Football

Watch out for:

Hunter Rook, Zack Karels, Mitchell Haldane, Lance Fernandez, Owen Fritz, David Turner, Johnny Cortedano, Mason Potter and Lewis Hersman

Player outlook:

“Our expectations are to improve on last year’s finish, and prove that it wasn’t a fluke. I’m excited to have a shot at being the first class that can say they went to back-to-back playoffs with the Terrace Hawks.” –Zack Karels

“We’re going to have to stay committed to the process of improving as the season goes on. We’re going to have to make great decisions on and off the field. And lastly, we’re going to have to stay healthy.” –Tony Umayam
