Christmas and winter break are just around the corner, are you getting anything for anyone this holiday season? Well, if you want to get someone something but you don’t know what they would want it can be hard to figure out. We wanted to give you some last minute gift ideas to give friends and family.
1- Art/drawing
You could always draw or paint something to show that you care about them, maybe draw their favorite character or even draw them! This paired with artistic talent can be a really good gift for the holidays, allowing you to show care in their interests and the time that you put into making it for them. This can go really well with a card you write for them. Along with it being heartfelt you don’t need to use fancy tools or spend money- all you really need is a pen or a pencil and a piece of paper, along with the time to work on it.
2- Candy/snacks
if you don’t like drawing or you just don’t think that the recipient would appreciate that you could go to a store and get them a food and drink that they would like, most likely something non-perishable like a soda, energy drink, candy, or chips. This isn’t as cheap as art or drawing but it is pretty easy to find this sort of thing in any store you go to, like a Dollar General or any grocery store.
3- Five Below or a dollar store.
You could also find good gifts in bargain stores like the dollar store or five below, then having good gifts this time of year if food isn’t your style. Things like candles, plushies, makeup, toys for a younger sibling, or even school supplies if you see a friend running out on things like highlighters or pencil. This is a price point that can vary based on how much you want to spend on them.
4- Do them a favor
If you don’t want to spend money this holiday season, you could always do an act of service. This is especially good for gifts for people in your household like a sibling or parent. Think of cleaning something for them Or helping them do something that you usually would not help them with. It is the season of giving after all and giving doesn’t always mean that you have to give something physical, charity or the act of service can work just as well.
5- Gift card
This might seem lazy to some, but if you don’t know what to give someone you can always give them a gift card to a place they frequent like Starbucks. This isn’t the best gift to give someone but if it’s an option it’s at least something to think about. if you want to make this gift better, you can make the gift card be to a place they would actually use it at and not just a casual Visa gift card.
6- Playlist
If spending money isn’t really your style, you can always make a playlist for them with songs they enjoy, spending money isn’t required to make a playlist on a place like YouTube or Spotify, all you really need is knowledge on what the other person likes to listen to and the time and effort it takes to make a playlist with them in mind, If they already have a playlist of what they like you could also make a collab playlist with songs you like and songs that they like.
7- Spending time with them
This seems like a no-brainer but spending time with people you care about is what the season is about. You can go to the mall with them, go to a park, or just spend time with them around the house. You don’t need to give gifts to people to show that you care for them and you shouldn’t feel bad if you don’t get them anything for these holidays, spending time with them is what’s important and you shouldn’t feel like you are a bad friend or family member for not giving someone something. They know you care if you show your care- gifts or not.
