Email system upgraded
Back in late September, the Edmonds School District’s email system went down for a week due to data corruption. As promised, the district will upgrade the email system to make it more reliable, secure and functional.
Over spring break, an upgrade from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 will take place for staff members. Also, an upgrade to Office 2010 is necessary.
Tech, capital levy passes
There is a possibility of implementing student email in the future as well. The hardware and upgrade costs are funded by the technology and capital levy that passed in 2008.
The replacement technology and capital levy, Proposition No. 1, passed with 63 percent approval during the special election on Feb. 14.
Early results showed that the replacement levy had passed and District posted on its website, “Advance thanks to all those who contributed to this result.”
The final results were confirmed by Snohomish County on Feb. 27.
