Hazen ends Hawks’ post-season run

Hazen ends Hawks post-season run

By Dominic DeMiero

The men’s basketball season came to an end Friday night with a tragic loss to Hazen, 67-60 in overtime.

The Hawks at one point in the game led by as much as 12 and seemed to have the game in hand until the middle of the fourth quarter when Hazen tightened up the lead with a 9-0 run. With about 8 seconds left in regulation and the Hawks up 51-49, the Highlanders’ Brandt Graybeal stole the ball and laid it in to tie the game at 51. That led the game into overtime where the Hawks never recovered.

The Hawks were led by Marquis Armstead’s 12 points; Hazen was led by Graybeal’s 22.
