During lunch Wednesday, Dec. 19 a group of students went to Principal Greg Schwab’s office and reported a possible threat against MTHS that was posted on Twitter. The students believed that the threat would take place on Friday, Dec. 21.
The threat originated on a Twitter post by an Edmonds-Woodway H.S. student commenting that Edmonds-Woodway was not shut down because of a rumored gun threat but Meadowdale H.S. (MHS) was last year.

The post eventually evolved with replies and retweets to include an MHS student asking an MTHS student whether or not a similar incident shut down MTHS.
Schwab told The Hawkeye that at no point were MTHS students under any type of threat.
“We’re not threatened by it.” said Schwab.
However as a precaution, Schwab has requested the Mountlake Terrace Police Department to provide a security presence on campus Friday. Increased security measures will be in place including the locking of all doors of the building except the main entrance.
This is a developing story. Check back with The Hawkeye for updates.
