Starting February 20, Community Transit will be cutting 20 percent of its bus service by adjusting all local routes and reducing frequency of buses. These service changes will likely impact all MTHS students who ride Community Transit. Here are some major route adjustments around MTHS:
- Route 112: The bus route that directly serves MTHS will be changed significantly. First, weekday frequency will be reduced to every 30-60 minutes while Saturday service will be reduced to every hour. This route will now run between Mountlake Terrace Transit Center and Ash Way Park and Ride and will no longer serve 56th Avenue or areas around Roger’s Market Place, Edmonds Woodway High School, or Edmonds Community College. Service to those places will now be in the newly modified route 119. 112 will also no longer stop directly at Lynnwood Transit Center (LTC), but will stop two blocks east at the intersection of 44th Avenue & 200th Street. Route 112 will now continue as route 113 at Ash Way Park and Ride.
- Route 113: This bus route will now be from Ash Way Park and Ride to Mukilteo and will have the same time frequency as route 112. Route 113 will no longer serve LTC or Alderwood Mall.
- Route 119: This route has been extremely modified from currently serving LTC and Alderwood Mall to after February 20 running between Ash Way Park and Ride and Mountlake Terrace Transit Center. This route will continue to serve Meadowdale High School but will now also serve Edmonds Woodway High School, 220th Street, and the area around Roger’s Market Place which will no longer be served by route 112.
- Route 120: This bus route will still run from LTC to Canyon Park, however it will no longer serve Alderwood Middle School, the stores around Barnes & Noble, or the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club. It will now come every hour except during peak hours on both weekdays and Saturdays.
- Route 130: This bus will now run from LTC to Edmonds Station and will continue to serve the Mountlake Terrace City Center, Mountlake Terrace Transit Center, and Aurora Village Transit Center. It is replacing the segment of route 131 between Aurora Village and Edmonds Station since route 131 is being completely eliminated. Route 130 will come every 30-60 minutes on weekdays and every hour on Saturdays.
- Route 196: New route between Edmonds Station and Alderwood Mall. This bus will replace the service that is currently provided by routes 113 and 118 on 196th Street and Alderwood Mall Parkway. It will not stop at LTC.
