The Hawks got off to a harsh start of the year going up against Jackson High School, starting the season off at Funko Field in Everett. The Hawks lost in a hard fought 10-0 score.
3/18 Seattle Prep – 5-6
After coming off a loss to start off their season, coach Ryan Sells wanted to attack big and hit Seattle Prep out of the park. The Hawks struck right back in the bottom of the fifth inning with two big runs to bring their lead back to three going up 5-2.
Seattle Prep responded, coming back in the sixth inning with 2 more runs trimming the Hawks’ lead down to one.
In the top of the seventh inning, the Hawks needed to strike out Seattle Prep to grind this game to a halt, but Seattle Prep came out swinging with two more runs. The game all came down to the bottom of the seventh inning and the Hawks came up just short in the rally back as they lost 6-5 in a nail biter. Senior Evan Sciutti-Trejo and junior Liam Moore flew high for the Hawks this game with both boasting an RBI, with Moore hitting two RBIs this game.
3/20 @ Woodland Park v. Lincoln High School – 1-4
The Hawks third game brought them to Woodland Park to face off against Lincoln H. S. who were 1-1 on the season. The game started off slowly with no runs scored in the first innings. In the top of the fourth, sophomore Cian Harney responded back as he drove in the Hawks’ first run of the game. Lincoln doubled Harney’s run in the bottom of fourth inning scoring two more runs. The rest of the game the Hawks fell back into a drought not scoring again resulting in a Hawks 4-1 loss.
3/21 @ Lynnwood High School – 12-2
The Hawks headed to Lynnwood High School to put the money in the bag. The Hawks robbed the whole bank, starting the game off with a run in the top of the second.
Lynnwood responded in the bottom of the third but this tie ended right away. The Hawks slammed out another run at the top of the fourth going up 2-1.
The top of the fifth for the Hawks proved to be their most dominant inning this season so far scoring three runs to build up the ever so daunting lead to 5-1. Lynnwood responded right back with another run to inch back a little to Terrace’s overwhelming lead.
Terrace took this as an insult, resulting in the Hawks going on a 7-0 run in the sixth inning, closing out the game 12-2 in just 6 inning. Moore and senior Nolan Valdivia both had dominant performances with the pair each with two RBI.
