Senior Photo Submission Requirements

If you would like to have your yearbook photo taken by an independent photographer, we only will allow submissions that meet specific requirements and are submitted properly by the DEADLINE.

File type: TIFF, JPEG, PNG or PSD

Resolution: 300 dpi minimum

Size: Must be at least 640 x 800 pizels, and maintain that ratio as a minimum

Submission method: Photos must be submitted via the link below OR on a clearly labeled USB thumb drive (you may get it back when we are done).

File name: The files must be named as follows – [STUDENT’S LAST NAME_FIRST NAME_#.SUFFIX] where #-the number (1-5) of the image in the collection of images submitted. The suffix is the type of file (.jpeg, .tiff, etc.) example: SMITH_JOHN_1.PSD

Metadata: Please include student’s name, email and/or phone number in each file. If you’re unsure how to add metadata, it’s pretty easy. Just Google it! (Here’s a great resource to start with https://www.canto.com/blog/photo-metadata 

Number of files: Submit 1 to 5 photos for us to choose from

Subject: Student’s full face is visible, within 5 feet of the photographer. The student is the only person in the shot. The student is looking at the camera. No selfies. Photos are in color. Nothing that is shown must be in line with our journalistic ethical standards.

If your submitted photos do not meet the requirements, but are submitted more than a week before the deadline, we will work with you to help meet the criteria. However, if the photo is incorrect and sent within a week of the deadline, we cannot guarantee that your photo will appear in the publication. We will do our best to work with you, but please plan ahead. Our first backup is to use your school ID photo taken at the beginning of the year. If one is not available that meets our criteria, your photo may be replaced by a placeholder image in the yearbook.
