Mountlake Terrace Men’s Baseball claimed a 7-3 victory on Friday, despite a big push by Spokane West Valley in the sixth inning. West Valley scored all three of their runs in the third inning but the Hawks answered back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Tanner Boe started for the Hawks and pitched five and two-thirds innings. He had four walks, 10 strikeouts and three runs allowed. Dillon Gordon came in for relief with two outs in the fifth after Tanner had thrown 101 pitches.
Jonathan Kumai went 4 for 4 at the plate to lead the Hawks in hits. He also had two doubles, two runs scored and one RBI. Boe led the teams RBIs with two and went 3 for 1 with a double
The Hawks will face up against the Ellensburg Bulldogs on Saturday, May 26 at 4 p.m. to play the 2A State Championship.
