Mountlake Terrace High School will be administering the High School Proficiency Exam in Reading and Writing. The Writing exam will begin at 7:20 a.m. on the mornings of Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13. The Reading exam will begin at 7:20 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, March 14.
All 10th grade students will be required to attend all three days. Select 11th and 12th grade students who need to retake specific exams have been notified at school which days they need to test.
First classes of the day will start at 10:05 am. All 9th grade students and those 11th and 12th grade students not testing are requested to not arrive on campus before 9:45 am.
School Busses will run at their normal morning times, and then again 3 hours later.
We strongly advise that all students testing next week:
Get a good night’s sleep the night before each exam
Eat a good breakfast the morning of each test
Wear comfortable clothes
Bring a bottle of water to sip during the test and a snack to eat during breaks
Bring two or more #2 pencils to use during the exam. Please note that mechanical pencils will not be picked up correctly by the scanners that are used to score the exams and thus will not be allowed.

STUDENTS NOT TESTING AND UNSUPERVISED AT SCHOOL DURING TESTING WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE
