While official school photos were taken by Dorian Studios on February 18 & 19, we realize that not everyone was able to get their photo taken at that time. So, in hopes of capturing all MTHS students and staff, we have set up the following opportunity for photo submissions.

However, please note that there are very specific requirements that must be met in order for your photo submission to be considered and that the Tempo staff reserves the right to not print any photo for any reason. Also, if you did have your photo taken by Dorian, that photo will be used. In other words, this is not an option for a re-take nor any kind of resubmission.

The Basics

The most common issue we have is that submitted photos do not meet our quality standards and will not look good when printed in the yearbook. However, if you can follow the requirements listed below, the TEMPO may be able to print your submission. Here are the details…

Photo Requirements


We only will allow submissions that meet the specific requirements below and are submitted properly by Sunday, March 14, 2021

Technical Requirements:

Submitted photos must be digital files submitted via the link provided below. Here are the specifics:

  • File type: TIFF, JPEG, PNG, DNG, RAW or PSD only
  • Resolution: 300 dpi minimum
  • Size: Must be at least 640 x 800 pixels and maintain that ratio as a minimum
  • Submission Method: Photos must be submitted via the link below – no exceptions
  • Metadata: Must include student’s name, email and/or phone number in each file (Not sure how to do this? CLICK HERE for help.)
  • Number of files: Submit 1 or 2 photos for us to choose from
  • Subject:
    • Subject is the only person in the photo
    • Subject’s full face is visible
    • Subject is wearing school appropriate clothing
    • Subject is not wearing a hat or any kind of head covering, although religious headwear is permitted
    • Subject’s face is within 5 feet of the photographer/camera (no distant, full-body shots)
    • The subject is looking at the camera
    • No selfies, please
    • Photos are in color
    • Smiles are wonderful!
  • Background:
    • Nondescript blue or green. backgrounds are preferred
    • Nothing distracting is allowed
    • Make sure that there is at least 18″ between the background and the back of the subject’s head
    • Make sure that the background contrasts with the subject so that the two do not blend together
    • Avoid objects that merge with the subject
  • Example:
    • Here’s an example of a typical yearbook photo that has appeared in a past edition of the Tempo. Please use it as a guide.

If your submitted photos do not meet the requirements, we will do our best to work with you, but we reserve the right to not print any photo submitted. NOTE: If none of your photos meets the criteria, or if no photo is submitted and there is a photo from the official school photographer, we will use the official school photo.
