PTSA hosts third annual bingo night
April 27, 2017
The MTHS Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) had their third annual bingo night on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 6:30 to 9pm.
Food, including chips, hot dogs and drinks, were sold. Each 10 round bingo card sold for $5, and raffle tickets were on sale for $1 each.
There was over 60 prizes ranging from cookie cakes, Starbucks gift cards, to oil changes. Since the event was geared towards families and staff, the all of the prizes were suitable for any age. The prizes were donated from the community, such as family friends, local businesses and extra crafts from the PTSA Holiday Bazaar.
Overall, bingo night had more high schoolers than expected. PTSA Vice President Debbie Murray, who ran the event, thought since high schoolers would be less interested, they would only make up one-third of the players, but Murray was proved wrong. About half of the attendence were high schoolers.
Advertising, such as flyers that were approved by the Edmonds School District (ESD), paid off. PTSA was able to achieve more than their $1,000 goal.
“The raffles were very successful,” Murray said.
