How long have you been playing basketball? Why did you start?

“[I have been] playing since I was 6 years old. I started playing because my family was huge in basketball.”

What’s your favorite part of playing basketball?

“[My] favorite part of the game is the competition.”

How has basketball affected you?

“Basketball has affected me in many ways. I has taught me to be selfless, mentally tough and patient.”

What are your plans after high school?

“My plans after high school are to attend a community college and then transfer to a 4-year university.”

Jorie Lambert

AGE: 18

POSITION: post/guard

NUMBER: 11

How long have you been playing basketball? Why did you start?

“I’ve been playing basketball since I was 5. Everyone in my family knew I would end up playing basketball. The first time I was in a gym was when I was two years old. I grew up watching my brother play and [I] was a little gym rat so it was just kind of natural for me to play.”

What is the most important thing to come out of playing basketball?

“The most important thing to come out of playing for me is how basketball shaped my character. I’ve always loved the game so much that I would never do anything to ruin my opportunity to play. Its taught me a lot about discipline, leadership and responsibility.”

Who influences you the most?

“My dad influences me the most. He’s taught me that I can’t control what goes on around me but I can control myself and that’s made me stronger.”

Are you going to play basketball after high school?

“I hope to play basketball after high school. Lewis and Clark College and Whitworth are two schools I’m actively looking at. I would like to start at a smaller school then hopefully transfer to a bigger one.”

“I’ve been playing basketball for 12 years. I started playing because my friends needed an extra player.”

“A good work ethic and learning how to manage your time.”

“My dad influences me to work hard and stay on top of everything.”

How has basketball affected you?

“It has helped me stay on top of my grades and taught me a lot about character.”

“[I have] been playing basketball for 13 years. Started because it was something new and fun.”

  “Someone who influences me is myself and my teammates always pushing each other to get better.”

What are your plans after high school?

  “I hope to play basketball at the college level somewhere.”
