The Edmonds School Board honored MTHS administration, educators and student media organizations at the school board meeting on Tuesday as one of six schools in the nation to receive the First Amendment Press Freedom Award.

Edmonds School Board President Diana White presented a school board recognition certificate to representatives from MTHS.

Members of the Hawkeye staff received the award at the 2014 Spring JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Conference in San Diego, Calif. in April.
