Tough tennis season for the Hawks

Tough+tennis+season+for+the+Hawks

The MTHS Men’s Tennis team has a fairly challenging season awaiting them.

The team has only three of their 12 members returning as varsity players from last season.

These three players are captains senior Bryce Pingul and junior Collin Rhodes, and another returner junior Brandon Park.

In addition to that, Rhodes only was a part of the varsity team last year, earning a call-up from JV partway through the year. But when asked, Rhodes seemed confident in his squad’s abilities.

“I think it’s looking pretty good. We have three new freshmen that are quite good and some people who were on JV last year have moved up in the ranks and joined varsity.”

Those three new freshmen prospects are Adam Lorraine, Jeremy, and Ben.

As for the JV members that have received the call-up over the off-season were Ricky Bridges, Ethan McGregor, Blake Christianson and Garret Mason.

Meanwhile, Pingul is for the standout of the squad that will be carrying the team.

“Bryce may be the best on the team. [He and I] are the captains but he’s a senior and easily the leader of the group,” Rhodes mentioned.

Well, it looks like the Hawks do have some bright spots, but also a lot of question marks out on the tennis court. It’s just a waiting game now to see whether those bright spots will fade and whether those question marks will become solutions.
