Another good year in the books

Yes, it’s that time of year again

With every beginning, there’s an end. As we are nearing the end of the class of 2015’s time at MTHS  it is also a time filled with excitement.

Graduation is just around the corner and the seniors are on the doorstep to the next stage of their lives. With that said, as we say our heartwarming good-byes to the class of 2015, I would like to also give a big thank you and a goodbye to the seniors that were on executive ASB: Taron, Alisha, Maci and Andrew.

Along with their good byes comes greetings and good wishes to the new executive ASB members as well returning ones.

Liya, Gene, Andrea, Kaitlyn, Cody and I are very excited for the next year and all that it will hold.

We hope that we can accomplish all of the many (and I do mean many) goals that we’ve set for ourselves.

ASB, as most of us know, stands for the associated student body. Our actions are meant to be one with all of the students’ wishes.

We hope that we can not only continue to uphold but to make an example of ourselves for future members.

Collectively, ASB is always scrutinized and criticized for poor communication. In the age of technology, we have no excuse for that.

If we look around at the students at this school (or any school for that matter), the majority of students have smart phones. There’s no reason for us to not be able to utilize that to our advantage.

We want to try our best to shed the criticism and make sure that ASB as a whole is communicating well and effectively.

We want to make sure that information is transparent between all members of ASB.

The last big goal that is on our list is to always strive to be as inclusive as possible.

We are students just like everyone else and all students deserve a voice.

We want to make sure that every voice and every opinion at MTHS is heard and taken into account.

As the late, great Stuart Scott would always say, I hope and wish that this year has been and that next year will “be as cool as the other side of the pillow”
